Honest comparison

Blankitt HR vs HiBob

HiBob is one of the best mid-market HCMs in the world — well funded, well reviewed, and genuinely good at what it does. Blankitt is the UK-first alternative for teams that run on rotas, want the price on the page, and would rather try the product than book a call. Here is the fair version of the choice.

Every HiBob claim on this page was verified against their public website on 5 July 2026. Products move — if something here is out of date, tell us and we'll fix it.

Where HiBob is a great choice

We're not going to pretend otherwise — Bob has earned its position, and there are cases where it's simply the right answer.

  • You want the established choice: 5,000+ customers, G2 4.5 from 2,335 reviews, analyst recognition, a decade of product.
  • You need HMRC-recognised UK payroll filing live from day one — Bob UK Payroll has it today, plus CIPP-certified managed payroll services.
  • Compensation reviews with built-in Mercer benchmarking data matter to your reward team.
  • You lean on a large integration marketplace and a mature, polished mobile app.
  • You're multi-country and value their global footprint and localised sites.

If that list describes your priorities and modular quote-based pricing is acceptable, pick HiBob with confidence. The cards below are where the two products genuinely diverge.

Where Blankitt fits

Blankitt leans into the things a module-priced global HCM structurally won't do — starting with the rota.

Built for shift-based teams

If your workforce runs on rotas — stores, warehouses, hospitality — Blankitt has the rota builder, open shifts, swaps and offline clock-in as core product. HiBob's own documentation points shift scheduling at integrations like Deputy or Quinyx; that's a second system, a second bill and a second sync to babysit.

Pricing you can screenshot

Starter £15/mo + £4 per employee, Growth £29 + £5, Growth Plus £59 + £6, hard caps, worked examples — all on the pricing page. HiBob's pricing page asks for your details and offers custom pricing. If procurement asks you 'what will this cost in year two?', only one of these answers fits on one line.

See it before you speak to anyone

Our demo is a fully-loaded 50-person company behind a one-field magic link. Theirs is a form (email, name, country, module, headcount, company, job title, mobile phone) followed by a 3½-minute video, with the sandbox sold as a paid module. We think 'try it first' should be table stakes.

Nothing gated, ever

SSO, SCIM, the API, webhooks, the sandbox and the mobile app are on every Blankitt tier — we price by headcount, never by feature. HiBob's model is Core plus 13 separately priced modules. Their way maximises deal size; our way minimises surprises.

Reporting without tickets

The no-code report builder queries every HR dataset, schedules delivery, and exports clean CSVs — included for everyone. Limited custom reporting is the most consistent criticism in HiBob's public reviews (mid-2026): check G2 yourself, then try the same report in our demo.

UK statutory detail as product, not smallprint

RTI (FPS/EPS), auto-enrolment with NEST and People's Pension, SSP/SMP/SPP/ShPP, P45/P60/P11D, NMW checks — named on the page because UK payroll is a first-class module, not a regional add-on. One honest caveat: Bob UK Payroll already holds HMRC recognition; ours is in progress, and live RTI filing switches on when it lands.

Fair questions

Is HiBob a good product?

Yes — genuinely. Bob is a polished, well-funded HCM with 5,000+ customers, strong review scores, HMRC-recognised UK payroll, Mercer-powered compensation benchmarking and a large integration marketplace. If you want the established mid-market choice and quote-based modular pricing doesn't bother you, it's a sensible pick. This page exists for the cases where the trade-offs point the other way.

Is Blankitt cheaper than HiBob?

We can't honestly answer that, because HiBob doesn't publish prices — quotes are custom, per module, per deal. What we can say: Blankitt's full price is on the page (from £15/mo + £4 per employee, everything included), so you can compute your exact cost in seconds and compare it against whatever quote you receive.

Does Blankitt have HMRC-recognised payroll like Bob?

Not yet — and we won't pretend otherwise. Bob UK Payroll is on HMRC's recognised list. Blankitt's UK payroll engine (PAYE, NI, statutory pay, pensions, P45/P60/P11D, RTI submissions) is built and running, and our recognition application is in progress; live RTI filing switches on when it completes. If you need recognised filing from day one, that's a real point in HiBob's favour today — ask us for the current status and interim options.

Can Blankitt handle retail and other shift-based workforces?

That's the design centre. Rota building with shift patterns, open shifts, swaps and give-aways with approval flows, offline-capable mobile clock-in, and timesheets that flow into payroll hours are all core product. HiBob covers time and attendance but directs rota scheduling to integration partners.

Is Blankitt too early-stage for us?

Maybe — and you should decide from evidence, not our copy. We're in early access: one 1,200-employee UK enterprise evaluation, a public changelog you can audit, and a live demo you can open right now. If your procurement needs 60 published case studies today, HiBob is the safer choice. If you'd trade logo volume for a rota-first product, transparent pricing and the founder's mobile number, that's exactly the trade we're offering.

We already use HiBob — can we migrate or run alongside?

Yes. CSV import covers people data, and the public API, signed webhooks and SCIM (included on every tier) cover the rest. Some teams start with just the rota and time & attendance running alongside an incumbent HRIS. Talk to the founder and you'll get an honest answer about whether a switch is worth it for your setup — including 'not yet' if that's the truth.

The demo settles it faster than this page can.

A fully-loaded 50-person company — rota, payroll, recruitment, performance — one email field away. Compare it with the video you'll get from the other form.
